Hey there!

My name’s Sandy Salierno and I love making clothes!

Should it be New?

Should it be New?

Another week has come and gone… somehow? And, as I sit here at 4 pm without a lamp it’s obvious it’s spring.

Just a heads up, I use affiliate links. For more information check out my Affiliate Link and Sponsorship Disclaimer.

Not my fave. My allergies have been going insane, so I took a restful break from my Bear Necessities Set. One of my best friends who knits and has experience with babies says it’s more than fine without the backing, so I’m hoping to get it finished and sent off this week!

As for my ombre cardigan, I’ve separated for the sleeves. I am absolutely loving this project. I’m making this in the now discontinued Debbie Bliss Rialto lace, which is 100% superwash merino.

Since this is a stash yarn I’m not sure how much exactly I have. I want the body to be long, but I need the sleeves to be long enough. I’m thinking I’ll knit until I need to add on more yarn, then I’ll do the sleeves. I’m also skipping the button bands on this and making a seed stitch waist tie instead, which I’ll need to do. Then I can just use as much yarn as I have left making it long and gorgeous.

This is where my dilemma comes in….

I found this still in it’s box while unpacking. It’s the now no longer dying Mrs. Crosby yarns.

I was planning to take this to Greece with me in a few weeks and make a headband and scarf set for the winter. Mainly because I’m not taking a sweater as a vacation project. While I was really looking forward to this, now I’m wondering if the smarter thing would be to make the belt for my sweater. It would definitely help me finish the sweater sooner.

The issue is I kind of just want to cast on something new. And the colours of this yarn are so gorgeous! I’ve been working with ivory for so long it’d be nice to break it up a bit.

Speaking of Greece… I need a dress to wear to the wedding. The bride has specified that she wants people in white. Luckily I have a lot of this white jersey from the Fabric Counter. I’ve also printed out M8174 for my pattern, so let’s hope I can start soon! It’s been a while since I’ve done a sewing project so I’m definitely a little nervous about getting back on it!

I made a video to go along with this, where I also teach you how to make my pasta sauce!
