A Set or a Sweater?
I’m too excited for introductions, look at this!
It’s blocking! I honestly can’t believe I’m finally at this stage.

If you’re new, this is the Bear Necessities Set by Debbie Bliss. I’m making this in the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino which I’m honestly tempted to make something for myself with.
This one has taken so long, but looking at it all laid out together blocking is just insanely fulfilling. I can’t believe I might almost be done.
Speaking of Debbie Bliss, I found many balls of the Rialto Lace in my stash. First seven, then three. I had just finished blocking the set and was anxious for a cast on, so I thought maybe a winter set for myself? I tried. I got into the scarf, and a bit into the hat…. but I just wasn’t loving the fabric. I was debating a sweater and went pattern hunting. I found some options but decided to maybe give it a second. I picked up the scarf and all the stitches fell off the needles. I picked up the hat and the same happened.
I know a sign when I see it, and I also know that it might be sweater time.
I’m fully caught up on my temperature blanket. We’re expecting a cold snap so I’m actually really excited to see how this changes the overall vibe. I’m making this in Drops Karisma.
Unfortunately I don’t have a link for this one. It’s from Kiriki Press. Once upon a time she had an embroidery sampler club where you got one a month and if you were in the club you got a bonus little pattern. I finally finished this one and I’m so happy with it. It’s just so cute!
I’m also super excited by some germination in my gin cocktail garden! So far the basil and the orange thyme have sprouted. I also started some seeds for my main garden.
All up it’s been a pretty good week. I think finishing the embroidery has been good for my overall motivation, not to mention getting the set to block. I’m excited about this cold snap. It’s been feeling a bit too spring-like and I’m not loving it. A part of me just wishes we could skip right ahead until next October…or even better, December. I could do with a dose of Christmas…
I made a video that accompanies this post!
